Information on Our Dogs and Assessment

Homes are needed for the dogs who have been signed into our care. Most dogs come to us following a significant change in their owner's circumstances. This may include bereavement, ill-health, imprisonment, housing difficulties, family changes, or situations where owners are no longer able to provide the care their dog needs.

We also work alongside local agencies, veterinary practices and other organisations to help dogs who need a safe place to stay while a suitable new home is found.

Once a dog arrives into our care, their assessment process begins. We gather as much information as possible and spend time getting to know each dog so that we can identify the type of home that will suit them best.

Some dogs are able to stay in foster homes, allowing us to assess them in a home environment, while others are assessed from kennels. During this time, all dogs receive veterinary care including vaccinations, neutering where appropriate and investigation of any health concerns.

We are happy to receive rehoming enquiries while a dog is being assessed, however some dogs may not be ready to leave our care for several weeks.
