Buddy is a black Labrador Cross, male. DOB 08.11.2025. He has been signed over to the care of RDR because his family were unable to give him the care, exercise and attention that he needs. He is now looking for a loving forever home.

Buddy is a big, beautiful, soft-hearted young boy with an equally big heart. He is a friendly, happy dog who loves to play and is very much still a puppy in many ways.

Buddy is a gentleman on the lead and loves getting out for his walks. He has been kind and friendly with his foster brother Patch and enjoys playing with him. Because of his size, Buddy can sometimes become a little boisterous when excited, but the lovely thing about Buddy is that he listens. If asked for a little "time out", he will slow himself down. He genuinely wants to listen, learn and be a good boy for his human.

Buddy doesn't appear to have had a great deal of training in the past, so he is still learning what is expected of him. He is intelligent and eager to please and, with kind and consistent guidance, we feel he will really flourish.

Buddy loves his exercise but will also need plenty of mental stimulation. Training, games, sniffing, exploring and learning new things will all be important for him.

Buddy absolutely LOVES having a garden! He enjoys sniffing around the bushes, exploring and having his zoomies. Because of his size and energy levels, we feel Buddy would benefit from a home with a good-sized, secure garden where he has plenty of room to enjoy being a dog.

In the house, Buddy is a really good boy. He has full access to his foster home and has been lovely to live with. He enjoys nothing more than climbing onto the sofa for a cuddle and being close to you. At night, he settles beautifully and sleeps right through.

Buddy is house trained, has shown no food guarding and is happy for his ears and paws to be handled.

Buddy can initially be nervous around new people, so introductions need to be taken slowly and at his own pace. He needs people who understand that he doesn't need to be rushed. Given a little time to work things out and feel safe, Buddy relaxes and begins to show the wonderful dog underneath.

Buddy was understandably quite stressed when he first arrived in foster care, but he has decompressed remarkably quickly. Every day his foster carer is seeing him relax a little more and show more of his lovely personality.

Buddy is a big dog, but there is still a very puppy-like side to him which needs nurturing, direction and continued training. He needs a home where someone is prepared to invest time in his training and help him learn how to navigate the world.

Buddy wants to please, he wants to learn and, most of all, he wants to feel safe and loved. With the right person or family, who can give him time, kindness, boundaries and guidance, we believe Buddy has the potential to make the most wonderful companion.

Buddy has never lived with cats and therefore we are unable to say how he would behave around them.

Before completing the form please check the following criteria as you will not get a response if the criteria is not met:

• We will not rehome to families with children under the age of 10 years.

• We do like to confirm the landlord has given permission if you do not own your own property.

• You must have a secure garden.

• No cats for this dog.

• Any existing dogs in the family must be neutered/spayed.

• Families must live within an approximate 100 mile radius of our base in Rochdale/Manchester.

We also do not rehome where the dogs are left for long periods each day. This may vary from dog to dog with regards to how long they can be left, but any detail about hours and routines is useful for us.

All our animals are fully vaccinated, spayed/neutered, microchipped, flea & worm treated before homing unless too young or upon advice from our vet/s.
